Westjet is a fantastic airline. I observed professionalism with every aspect of the flight.

I arrived for Westjet 136 at about 8:30 for the 10:00 departure from Vancouver. I had used the online check in the night before, so check- in was a breeze- even for the holiday season. The ticket agent tagged my baggage, put it on the belt and I headed for security. While I waited for the flight, I observed the performance of the WestJet staff at pier A and listened to their announcements for other flights. Despite the Christmas chaos of an international airport during the Christmas season, they all made a fantastic effort to make sure passengers made it for their flights. Numerous personal pages were made and all were very courteous sounding.

I watched the plane that would become flight 136, a Boeing 737- 600 arrive at gate A1 and observed the ramp crew that serviced it. Speaking as former ramp hand, I was very impressed with the effort that they made to make an on- time turn around.

During the flight, we had a selection of Sirius satellite radio channels to listen to, or Bell Express-Vu TV to watch, so of course I watched the Tenerife disaster of 1977 played on Discovery channel- what else would you watch on a plane? Although the Aircraft was comfortable and quiet enough, I found that with my laptop case under the seat, there was quite the limit in leg room. The cabin crew were very polite and used friendly humor in their announcements without going over the top so as not to upset any of the more conservative flyers on board.

The connector from Edmonton to Grande Prairie was about ten minutes late, but I still observed the same quality service to my final destination, with the added bonus of the extra legroom in the B737- 700 series aircraft.
