Taken 25 January 2008 from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands (Reina Sofia-Tenerife Sur) - TFS to Newcastle - NCL

I booked my return from Tenerife with Jet2 at a cost of 90EUR per person and a small charge for pre-booking seats. I did not pre-book my bags online and this costs £10 or 14EUR at the airport which I think is a bit steep. Check-in at Reina Sofia was long, six desks were checking in all passengers for all Jet2's departing flights that afternoon.

The Leeds Bradford departure had been cancelled due to high winds back in the UK resulting in almost any spare seat being taken as Jet2 rebooked their Leeds bound passengers on flights to Manchester, Blackpool and Newcastle. Boarding our Boeing 757-200 (G-LSAA) was delayed and once onboard our departure was delayed further as two passengers were missing and then the search for the bags took over half an hour. The seating on Jet2 unless pre-booked in extra leg-room is intolerable if you are over 5.10ft. To prove how close the seats are crammed together even slim people had the fold down tray embedded in their torso. I would only travel Jet2 again if I could book the extra legroom seats which I am more than happy to pay for. Other than that they fly routes I like to take and can be quite cheap. The crew are very friendly and immaculately presented. Possibly the saving grace of this airline operating aged aircraft in a very high density lay out.
