Home > American > 2008 > ReviewTaken 18 February 2008 from Manchester, England (Ringway International Airport) - MAN to Chicago, IL (Chicago-O'Hare International Airport) - ORDRegional direct services to US cities other than NY are gold dust for folks like me who travel internationally for business, but hate the schlep to Heathrow. This flight was direct from MAN to ORD business class for a very reasonable price. The business class seat is complicated to use, but very comfortable when you find the right setting combination. A near-lying down sleeping position is attainable. Entertainment is provided by way of a personal "laptop" style system that is placed vertically in the seat back console in front of you. Good choice of movies, audio and TV. Easy to use system also. The Bose "sound cancelling" headphones made for very quiet travel, although for some reason it tends to give me a headache when I use them for a long time. For some reason I never worked out, American cabin staff consists of somewhat more "mature" personnel, and with their refined competence also comes some grumpiness in my experience on this flight and others. Food and beverage service more than acceptable - timely, light, but filling. I was able to work almost all the way to the US which is why business really works I guess. Just good, comfy business class - the only standard I would ever fly long haul for work or personal travel if I had the money. This was a comfortable, good value and convenient flight, recommended to anyone. | ||
