Home > AirTran Airways > ReviewTaken 8 March 2008 from Dayton, OH (James M. Cox Dayton International Airport) - DAY to Richmond, VA (Richmond International Airport) - RICI was traveling with my six year old daughter. We had connecting flights in Atlanta both ways. All four flights departed late and arrived late. I missed both of my connecting flights and spent more the 18 hours in airports. I do understand that there can be delays that are out of the airlines control, however I expected some help and understanding from the employees. Our first delay on our way to Virginia was 8 hours! After standing in line with four very heavy carry on bags and my six year old daughter for more than 20 minutes, a new flight arrived in Atlanta. This flight was also late. One customer jumped in front of me and the employee saw him, and when I said excise me I was next she told me to wait!! Then another lady tried the same thing and still nothing was said. My flight I was waiting for was canceled and I was never informed. Then it was set depart at another time and another gate and I was not informed. All the flights were over booked. They did now offer any services such as meal tickets or help finding a hotel. They were rude and acted like everyone was nothing more than a problem. Our return flight was out of Newport News, Virginia. It was delayed already, then we were ready to take off but Atlanta was having severe weather they told us we could get off the plane and get some food and proceed back on to the plane. So I got off got my daughter some food and went to board the plane again They refused to let us back on even though our items were on the plane. I had to wait until the following day to depart but they would not give me my luggage back. So we had to spend the night with no clothes or any personal items. The following day we were delayed again! This time weather was not an issue. I missed the connecting flight again... and we had to wait in Atlanta for six hours on an outbound flight. The flight was supposed to arrive at in Dayton at 12:15 AM and we arrived at 1:20AM and this delay was not due to weather. This airline did not offer much help, most of the employees were rude and were un willing to help. They did not make any effort to assist me and made traveling with a child an even harder task. They did not have any knowledge of the surrounding hotels, shopping centers, or restaurants. I spoke to customer service on the phone and at the airports the were uncertain of their policies and did not have the same answers to my questions. The airport told me one thing and the representative on the phone told me another. The only helpful polite employees were the flight attendants. | ||
