Taken 18 April 2008 from Belfast, Northern Ireland (Aldergrove International) - BFS to Sanford, FL (Central Florida Regional Airport) - SFB

Typical Flyglobespan. Flight due to leave Belfast at 11.30am on the outbound leg. When we checked in, flight was showing as slightly delayed to 1300 hours. This was acceptable, as sometimes delays are inevitable. We were informed at check-in that the aircraft was a Boeing 757-200 and would be able to make a direct hop across the Atlantic, without having to stop for fuel in Bangor Maine.

When we were through to the departure lounge, the flight was further and further delayed. Aviance ground staff were fantastic though, and we were given refreshment vouchers.

Flight eventually did take off at 6.20pm that evening, almost 7 hours late. Captain announced that the aircraft was not capable of making a direct hop, and we would be stopping in Bangor to pick up fuel - thus delaying out arrival into Orlando. However, later on in the flight, we were informed that the headwinds were not strong, and we could continue to Orlando without a stop. A long 9 hours and 20 minutes later we arrived in Sanford, after a totally unacceptable delay.

I have taken several flights with this airline, and can say that none of them have been on time. They need to wise up and sort out their delays, and properly service their aircraft. Also, a Boeing 757-200 is far too small for this route, and should not be used. An aircraft capable of making the route - a 767-300 is supposed to be used. Time for Flyglobespan to stop penny-pinching and sort themselves out.

Due to return to UK on 2nd May. Hopefully the flight will be on time.
