Taken 24 April 2008 from London (Stansted) - STN to Bergamo - BGY

I had always vowed never to fly Ryanair but various factors combined to leaving little option to fly with them.

Check in at Stansted was quick (we was first in the Que) but no security questions were asked. Departure was 15 minutes late and arrival into Bergamo was just 6 minutes behind schedule.

The flight out was on one of the aircraft purchased about 12-18 months ago. Seat pitch is tight and the garish yellow throughout the cabin can be painful on the eyes.

The cost of drinks and snacks as far higher than those on say Flybe.

The crew do their job but no more, selling, selling and more selling. the crew on both flights, in particular the female members, had not taken full care about their grooming so some looked scruffy.

The return was on an older 737, which still had banners advertising Christmas deals - not sure if they were for 2007/8 or Ryanair is first out to get custom for 2008/9!

Arrival into Stansted was 15 minutes early.

With Ryanair you can get a cheap flight (but the process on their website is confusing as the first price they give you is not what you end up paying). They may be fine for younger people and those who enjoy charter flight 'comfort and atmosphere' but for anyone who prefers a more personal approach should consider other low cost carriers such as Easyjet, Flybe and Air Berlin who, in my experience, all knock spots off Ryanair.
