Outbound check-in was average, as was the lounge although the range of wines was maybe superior to most other airline lounges.

Boarding was the usual shambles associated with Iberia and it was not until the end of the queue that we had some recognition of flying in Business Class.

When we boarded we discovered that the aircraft was not fitted with the new Business Plus model due to expansion of the fleet which was disappointing. This meant no AVOD or flat bed. We were compensated with 850 FQTV miles.

Otherwise the old Business Class was adequate, the food was very Spanish style with the main being Pigs Knuckle so not to everyones taste.

Return leg check in and lounge, again adequate. A nice surprise to find the new Business Plus product on this plane as the purser had warned that it was due in November on this route on the outbound.

The AVOD and flat beds and general product was very acceptable and very different form the old Iberia product and also the domestic and Medium haul product. Cabin crew seemed pleased to be there and the food was slightly better but still too Spanish style for an International carrier.

Both flights were bang on time.

Overall, the Iberia Business Plus model takes the airline in line with many of its competitors and the few shortfalls are bearable. It is a very different product to that of short and medium haul which often is very lacking. A good experience which would not put me off booking a long haul flight with this airline in the future.
