Home > Emirates > 2007 > ReviewTaken 1 October 2007 from London, England (Heathrow Airport) - LHR to Auckland (International) - AKLFlew the longest possible flight from the UK petty much. All the way down to New Zealand with Emirates. The aircraft on the 1st leg (LHR-DXB) was the 777-300ER and 2nd (DXB-AKL) a standard 777-300. Had nobody sat next to me on first flight and was fairly comfortable in window seat. Was in a middle "J" seat for the second and had this aircraft for 23-hours of flying. The IFE was inferior to the -ER version aircraft. The comfort on the 2nd flight was inhumane. Stupidly narrow seats and armrest, elbow to elbow even with "slim" passengers. Value not great as I since discovered Air New Zealand running LHR-AKL at 80% of the Emirates price (when I looked for bookings in November 08) and with 9-abreast seating (so wider seats). Crew service was pretty good on both flight. | ||
