Upper Class is a great product. As this was a morning flight we got a full breakfast, and then about 90 minutes before landing at Heathrow - a full three course lunch! Very impressive, and much appreciated given the added five hours in time. Champagne was very good and plentiful, and the Rio Sol wine from Brazil was fantastic. Tried to buy some when I got back, and I think Virgin has bagged the lot! I only have three concerns, not even complaints. The seating is at a 45 degree angle to the window, so it is virtually impossible to look out of the window without causing severe neck ache. I risked it on the flight into LHR as we flew directly over central London and it was worth the pain. The second concern is the controls are very badly placed for the VOD, which again caused me some twisting and turning. The final concern was, the famous "bar" was really never available on the flight to London as it was being used by the cabin crew to write notes, prepare glasses and food service. On the flight back the bar was more available. VS017 back left on time, landed 30 minutes early and I was out in the car in ten minutes - very impressive. Overall, better than BA's club class, (and First class in many respects too) with the possible exception of the seating, although on BA, half the seats face backwards, which I always find off putting, and if you are in a window seat on BA, in most cases, you have to climb over the person in the aisle if you want to get out. On VS, every upper class seat is an aisle seat. So VS, you converted me over from BA and I look forward to seeing you again Feb 6th on VS018. | ||
