We flew with Iberia over Christmas and after my horrible experience with the airline I will never fly them again. Firstly, the seats we were given were broken and the stewards could not care less. the flight was also delayed and we nearly missed our connecting flight. Secondly, when we arrived at our final destination we were told (after waiting over an hour for our luggage) that it never made it to the plane on our departure (it was left in Madrid) and that we would only get our luggage in the next few days. Eventually when we did get our luggage we found that a number of items (Christmas gifts for family) had been stolen from our bags. When we tried to report this to Iberia we found that there phone system was not operational. We were not able to contact them for two weeks, apparently there phone system was down!! We were told that we needed to send a list of the stolen items to their head office in Madrid. After doing this twice (they said the first letter never arrived) it took three months of continuous chasing up on our part only to be finally told that they would not refund us for the theft because there was no visible damage to our bags (The bags had been in Iberia's possession for four full days- plenty of time for someone to pick the lock and take whatever they wanted). During this three month ordeal, Iberia have not bothered to contact or apologize to us once, we have had to do the chasing up only to be told that its not their problem. I will never fly Iberia again and urge anyone else to fly a more professional airline.
