Taken 31 January 2009 from Amsterdam (Schiphol) - AMS to Sydney, New South Wales (Kingsford Smith) - SYD

Like two years ago we flew with Cathay Pacific from Amsterdam to Sydney. Last time the flight Amsterdam-Hongkong was on an Airbus 340-300, this time the equipment on this segment was a Boeing 747-400. The flights between Hongkong and Sydney were operated by Airbus 330. It was the first time we have experienced the new seats of Cathay and despite all the bad reports I had heard before I was pleasantly surprised. I'm 2 meters tall and didn't have any troubles at all on these long flights. A great thing is that these new seats don't recline, only the inner shell slides forward. This means for me that I could sit pretty normal and didn't have to worry about being squashed when the person in front of me reclined their seat.

All flights were on time, service was good. Friendly staff. Internet check-in also is a breeze. Keep up the good work Cathay!
