Taken 28 August 2009 from New York, NY (John F. Kennedy International Airport) - JFK to Pittsburgh, PA (Pittsburgh International Airport) - PIT

I don't normally fly with ANY airline; it has been three years since I flew on Northwest airlines (my first pick of airline).

This flight was a GENERAL improvement, but some aspects still need to be worked out.

This was flight 1053. Flight 347 to Sarasota was at the same gate as this flight at the same time. The plane that was supposed to be used got damaged and a new one was sent from Buffalo with crew from Washington. They were routed to another gate.

I got to my gate and saw that the flight had been delayed by one half hour (according to screen and boarding pass; because there was inclement weather and a visibility problem). This change was not acknowledged until later when a LONGER delay was issued. We were were scheduled to depart at 2:29 p.m. originally, but then it was moved to 3:09 p.m. It was not until the flight was moved until 4:11 p.m. that JetBlue bothered to make an announcement. The board then showed a boarding time of 3:31 but preboarding (handicapped, exit row, families with small children, and unaccompanied minors) did not begin until 3:50.

The plane had been boarded completely by 4:14 p.m. However, there was a delay moving from the gate because "the mechanic had to verify with the pilot about some issues," according to the steward.

One half hour later (now 4:50) the plane was on the runway. While taxiing to the runway, safety was reviewed and two stewards were in the aisle demonstrating the safety (playing with a prop seat belt, putting on a life vest, etc.). I should think this would be reviewed WHILE STOPPED for the safety of the flight attendants.

We finally took off at 4:59 p.m. We arrived at 6:03 p.m.

The leather seat on this particular was horrible; the seat was flat on the bottom and the back. I was unable to recline because I was in front of an exit row.

The TV had nothing good on, except for Channel 13, which is mainly advertisements. However, about every two minutes, there will be a map showing where the plane is, the altitude, and the speed. It is not incredibly accurate, however, as we were not moving on the runway at PIT (this was as of my flight on August 24) but it registered an altitude of 5 feet and a speed of 15 miles per hour.

The plane was incessantly rattling during taxiing. The other one I rode in a few days prior was silent.

The steward was excellent! He was very friendly! He came around for the trash two or three times and if he ran out of a drink or snack he came back with more instead of saying they were out.

Based on this flight, I would fly with JetBlue again, but communication from the airline and the airport need to be stepped up, BIG TIME.
