Southampton Airport is both small and friendly. I could not understand the point of online check-in when you had to queue for some considerable time for the "fast-bag drop" where the procedures were no different if I had not checked in online. Flight was 25 minutes late in departing due to late arrival of inbound, but made up some time en route.

Friendly efficient service from the 2 cabin crew who sold a good variety of reasonably priced refreshments and snacks.

The Dash 8 400 aircraft was reasonably comfortable and quiet.

Avignon is a very small airport where passport checks are done prior to entering the terminal. Took less than 10 minutes from disembarking to driving away in a rental car.

Return flight was also delayed departing 45 minutes late but again making up some time en route. The small terminal at Avignon can get very crowded when 2 flights are departing and the queue for the one security scanner was long.

FlyBE offer a good service to smaller regional airports, although the fare in peak season is not cheap.
