Another sorry story on an Air France flight. Flight booked for my wife to S. Africa on 17/09 to inter her mothers ashes on Saturday 19/09 with family who were arriving in Durban from all over S.Africa

8.15 Flight on 17/09 delayed from Heathrow to Paris for one hour resulting in her missing her connecting flight to Johannesburg. She spoke to AF staff at Heathrow who promised her that the flight would be held for the 12 passengers arriving from London. When she got to Paris her connecting flight had already left and at 2.30am was put up in a hotel to catch the 7.10pm flight the next day. I am amazed how Air France staff will tell you anything to get the problems moved away from them and onto someone else. She also then missed her flight purchased from Johannesburg to Durban and I had to fork out another nearly R1000 to purchase another ticket

When she finally arrived in Johannesburg 24 hours late, she found that her luggage had not been loaded and was sitting in Paris. Her luggage was delivered to her 21 hours after she arrived. Two problems with Air France- 1.There does not seem to be accountability or real customer service. 2. We have both traveled on numerous occasions on the 8.15 flight have never once left Heathrow on time, we have always had to sprint to get on the flight to JNB. which always spoils the start of a holiday. I really think that it is time for Air France to re schedule that flight to an earlier time slot so its customers can at least get what they pay for. Many times when booking, the 8.15 flight is the only one available. To be totally fair I must thank the booking staff who upgraded her to business class, which I believe was only right after all the stress she was put through. I don't even want to think about her return trip on 26/09
