Outbound - The day before our flight I received a phone call from Thomas Cook informing me that our aircraft had been changed from the Airbus a330 to the Boeing 767. The Boeing 767's that Thomas cook have should never be used on long haul flights, the leg room is appalling, for a 9 hour flight it just isn't right to have you sitting in such a small space. I was quite lucky that the guy in front of me didn't put his seat back, otherwise I would have struggled to even get out of the seat. I'm 6 foot so anybody taller would be in big trouble. There was no seat back TV's, just TV's every 5/6 rows, I had a window seat and couldn't see the TV anyway for the overhead bins, even though the bins was closed! The aircraft was in need of a very good clean too as it was quite dirty. The flight was 2 hours delayed and we arrived around 90 minutes late. The flight attendants were polite, they served regular and the meals were great, very tasty and better than most airline food.

Inbound - on our inbound flight we was lucky enough to be on the Airbus a330 we should have been on outbound, the leg room was so much better, about 4 inches better! This time seat back TV's, although half the channels didn't work, including the map which was a little disappointing. The flight left 5 minutes early and arrived 40 minutes early, again the flight attendants were polite, and again the food was good.

I've left the comfort marks blank because of the 2 different aircraft, I'd rate the Boeing 767 as about a 3 for comfort, its pretty bad, but the Airbus a330 I'd give about an 8, maybe even a 9, the leg room was great.

I think I would fly with Thomas Cook again, but I would pray to be on the Airbus unless they re-fit the Boeing, with the leg room the Boeing has it should only be used on short haul flights.
