The inflight service is usually excellent especially in Business Class. However, the ticketing and cashier counters are notorious for delays. What would have taken minutes at an US/Europe airport for major international carriers took an excruciating 45 minutes at Jet Airways ticketing counter (issuing an infant ticket that was already booked and paid for).

Even though Jet Airways is one of the major connecting airlines in India from the International Airports in Delhi, Mumbai (Bombay) and Chennai (Madras) its connecting services between domestic and international terminals leave a lot to be desired. They do not always have luggage checking directly in the terminal you arrive at. You have to carry the luggage to a bus (often infrequent and crowded service at peak times) and wait in long lines. Simple curbside checkin would do wonders.

While the value is high by US and Western standards, it is priced high for the Indian domestic market.

Jet Airways has one of the largest fleets in India and it keeps growing, rivalling the dominant state carrier Indian Airlines. However, at peak times their service in coach is hurried and impersonal. Service on Indian domestic airlines for food usually beats any North American short-haul flights. So the comparision here is with the best in domestic flights (when flights are not crowded, etc.)

You cannot request seating ahead of time and that can be annoying if you are travelling in groups/families. Business passengers and frequent travellers get that option only 24 hours before the flight's departure.

The young 737 fleet features modern aircraft with decent comfort. Sometimes the climate control is screwed up.
