Taken August 2001 from Cancun to Manchester

This was the return flight, on a Danish-registered A330 from Premiair, which was less enjoyable than the one out. The cabin crew were rather abrupt, not very helpful and I didn't see a single one of them raise a smile during the journey. When I requested a glass of water so I could take a painkiller for severe earache, they said "yes, after we serve the teas" which turned out to be 10 mins later. So much for customer service.

I already ranted about the use of CD players in my last review; suffice to say, my sister listened to hers all the way back. Did anything happen? No. They were too busy trying to work out why the entertainment system was cracking; while the rest of them stood scratching their heads, the supervisor woffled out the excuse that it was overheating. I think not.

Also, seeing an unpainted replacement engine cover on the port Trent 772 didn't inspire confidence, especially as Airbuses have a reputation for losing engine covers in flight.

Before I fly Airtours International again, I think the airline should invest in giving their cabin crew some proper training in manners, efficiency and basic knowledge on how stuff on the aircraft actually works, rather than just how to look nice. Otherwise, give me Air 2000 and Britannia any day.
