Taken August 2001 from London Gatwick to Cancun

Flight out wasn't too bad, apart from the food, pricey drinks, unattentive crew and badly positioned TV monitors, also they only showed two films, for a ten hour flight?!

If we thought the flight there was bad, the flight back was absolutley horrendous, we were assigned different seats and were in a block of four. My girlfriend is 5'11 and I'm 6'3, we could hardly get in the seats, I had to stretch my legs at an akward angle to get in the seat and then leave them down the aisle. I complained to a stewardess before take off that it was inhuman to expect us to travel like that, also if there had been an emergency it would be impossible to get in the crash position, we were told that the plane was full with no seats left, not even if I tried to pay to get upgraded.

Shortly after takeoff the lady in front decided to put her chair back, she seemed most distressed as I blurted no as she rammed the chair a few times into my left knee, I tried to explain to her that she couldn't get the chair back causes of my knee, but she took great umbrance at this and went off to complain to a stewerdess who promptly came marching back full of good ideas until she saw the size of my girlfriend and I. It was only at my suggestion that I spend most of the flight sitting on the jump seat that averted an arguement, so this is what I did.

I'd like to say thanks to JMC for ruining the start and end of a wonderful holiday, thanks for letting me sit on a jumpseat outside a toilet for nigh on 9 hours.

I've recently heard that the CAA has ruled that the seats on the aircraft JMC operate are too close together and has ordered them to remove some, this was of course returned with the 'but prices will have to go up'. Honestly, I will never never never fly with them again.

I have received an anonymous e-mail from somebody who claims to be a JMC employee and I quote it below as follows. I have no evidence that this mail was either genuine or fake, I leave that to your judgement:

"The aircraft that is used for these flights is actually not a JMC aircraft but is one that is leased from BRITANNIA - therefore it is not a standard JMC configuration - and this needs to be made clear to all people reading this information - delays have obvioulsy been caused because of the heightened security controls now installed. I work for JMC and can strongly confirm that it is not a JMC aircraft operated on these routes - so the person who complained about his flights and not fed you with the correct information"
