Home > Airtours > 2001 > ReviewTaken June 2001 from Heraklion, Crete to ManchesterAfter our outbound experiance of a 757, what a delight to hear upon check in there would be a "short delay as a standby aircraft had been dispatched" - hey up I thought when I saw that I was sat in 8g - am I sat on the wing or is it a widebody - is it an Air Atlanta 747?, AIH A330?, and then she turned up - the 3rd in a series of AIH DC-10's to land was my flight home G-TDTW. Because the DC-10 replaced a 757, there was plenty of room onboard so I as I was sat on the isle, I asked a stewardess if I could move to the window seat - and the reply - "I'm sorry but you will have to move back for take off and landing because there is a weight restriction on this aircraft" - thanks but I'm not that big built!! They screwed up our pre-booked meal because of the aircraft change so we had Beef casserole which was suprisingly nice and got offered a refund on the pre-books. Happy again as I got a cockpit visit on a legendary plane. | ||
