Taken October 2001 from San Francisco to London Heathrow

Crammed like sardines into a old 747 with no seat back entertainment system. Legroom was the worst I have ever experienced on an international scheduled flight. My 5'8" wife could not get comfortable and at 6'2" my knees were touching the back of the seat in front for the duration of the flight - luckily the guy in front, being the same height as me had the good sense not to recline his seat on the overnight flight.

God help the poor souls who had started on this flight from New Zealand.

Flight departed on time and arrived early.

Flight staff were helpful and good natured, probably because they were not sitting down.
