Home > Malaysia Airlines > 2001 > ReviewTaken November 2001 from Manchester to DenpassarFrom Manchester to KL, it was a rather tatty 747-400 whose seating had seen better days. The food was passable and the films were watchable. The service? Wow, can we have some please. We had to almost beg to get anything stronger than orange juice and it was dispensed with an eye dropper. Not a lot of fun on a 13.5 hr flight. KL to Denpasser on a tidy 737-400, leg room OK for a 3 hour flight, service a bit better than the first leg (couldn't have beem much worse though). No entertainment at all, but what the heck, we were almost at Bali. Arrived on time after two flights and a short stop 18 hours after leaving Manchester, so no complaints there. The return flights were of the same standard as the outward flights except drinks were even harder to get and the entertainment had an eight houe break mid flight. I do this trip a few times every year and it was the first time with Malaysia for two years and boy has the service slipped. My airline of choice to Bali is Garuda, who in the last two years have shown a fantastic improvement in service in and it is a pleasure to travel with them. The Malaysian aircrew on the other hand make such a long journey very hard work indeed. | ||
