Taken November 2001 from Newark to London Heathrow

This was the last of my five flight trip with United. Don't believe everything you hear about North American flight attendants, all I encountered were polite, professional and efficient. This team were on a whole 40+ yrs and the experience showed. They were very friendly and courteous throughout this quick 5h 58m Trans-Atlantic flight which departed and arrived on time.

The seating in Economy Plus on board this B777-222ER was well worth having and offered ample recline and legroom.

Dinner was offered with three choices of menu Chicken, Pasta or Salmon. (I had the chicken with rice, sweet marinade and carrots which was good), side salad with a pastrami and melon starter, side salad and finished with chocolate cheescake.

Pre dinner drinks and separate wine plus two rounds of tea and coffee, after dinner drinks and duty free from carts at seat. All this completed within 2hrs on this lightly loaded flight which afforded me an empty seat adjacent to me, as well as the better legroom.

A breakfast snack of fresh fruit salad, roll and preserve with two lots of tea/coffee was served 50 mins before arrival at LHR.

The entertainment provided seat back TVs and was much better than the choice offered on the older B767-300/B757-200s/A320-200s.

All in all I would recommend United Airlines over British Airways on Transatlantic, however their Domestic First class just isn't worth the extra until they offer a better food service, but the crews made up for this.
