Taken December 2001 from Manila to Los Angeles

Oh my God!

PAL is probably the BEST airline ever! The service is just immaculate! Friendly smiles of the attentive crew just assures a traveller that the long flight (it's 12-14 hours long) will be a pleasant one. The dinner service out of Manila was really good(caviar, one has a choice of Filipino and Western cuisine).

The entertainment onboard was really good, they even give playing cards (quite seldom these days by other airlines). The crew even allowed me to walk around the cabin and had a chance to talk to other passengers! I even saw a girl going inside the First Class cabin to see her elderly parents (they were flying First Class), quite unusual, but shows that the PAL cabin crew show care and concern to the passengers' family even if they fly different classes. I think it's a Filipino custom that Filipinos look out for one another as a sign of concern.

The breakfast service was also really good and when the plane landed at LAX, the passengers applauded (I think it was a sign that they finally reached their destination, I also hear applause when we arrive in Manila).

I recommend PAL to all passengers. PAL may not have fancy comforts like Personal TVs in Economy or serve Dom Perignon in Economy, but the service was excellent. The PAL crew did a really good job! I think ALL airlines should learn from the PAL Cabin Crew, where they treat passengers like royalty, and not dirt!
