Home > GO > 2002 > ReviewTaken January 2002 from Bristol to EdinburghFlight cost £35 which is cheaper than the train or driving. The airport terminal at Bristol is very new and the speed and friendliness of a small regional airport is much better than somewhere like Gatwick. On the morning I flew it had snowed in the night. This meant that all the aircraft had to be "de-iced". This caused our flight a 3 hour delay. However, the way GO handled this was outstanding and I am now a huge fan of theirs after just one flight. The Captain explained the procedure and gave us updates on how long until the airport de-icing machine would reach us. It broke down. The flow of information was constant. The cabin crew made every effort to keep everyone comfortable. After nearly 2 hours the Captain organised for us all to leave the aircraft and stetch our legs in the terminal. One of the pilots led us all into the terminal and helped give out re-boarding tickets and answered questions is a smile. We eventually arrived in Edinburgh 3.5 hours late. However, I always felt safe, that the airline was taking no chances with the weather and that they were really making a huge effort to look after us all in trying circumstances. All the other aircraft such as BA and Airtours at Bristol were delayed by the de-icing machine breaking down. I will choose GO again, they were cheap, safety scrupulous and their service in extremis was brilliant. | ||
