Taken July 2001 from La Paz to Miami

I bought tickets for this airline so that my parents could come visit me in La Paz, and it's the last time that I will ever send someone I care about on this airline. On the way to La Paz, their airplane blew a fuel pump, flew sideways and downwards for awhile with all of the passengers screaming, and then turned around and went back to Lima and stayed for the entire next day.

However, the airline took terrible care of its passengers. They were put up in cheap hotels, not fed, and asked to ride taxis alone through Lima in the middle of the night. No compensation - i.e. a free ticket - was provided.

On the way home, the airplane that was supposed to take my parents from Lima to Miami was seized by the Chilean government due to allegations of drug trafficking, and they ended up spending another night in the same cheap hotel, being flown to Panama, and arriving home a day late. Once again, the airline provided no compensation and was not helpful to its passengers. Watch out.
