Taken January 2000 from Amsterdam to Istanbul

On the way to Istanbul, no delays and regular tourist class service; on the way back the plane, which was supposed to leave at 6 AM, was not on the board at the airport. Airport staff did not know about the flight.... At 9 AM they called the local office, who advised us that the flight would only leave at 14.15.

Before boarding the flight, we were told that the flight would not be non-stop, but via Ankara, which added another 2 hours to the flight...

When boarding in Istanbul we were told to sit behind row 8, regardless of what the boarding pass said, because the plane would otherwise not be in balance!! In Ankara the plane filled up for 100% with people and the huge amounts of carry on-luggage. Only a few people trying to actually bring in suitcases had a problem; the suitcases were going into the cargo space after all.

Between Ankara and Amsterdam there was no way to reach the only toilets, that were in the rear, as the aisle was blocked with the duty free, people, and the cart.... No space to move, no toilets to reach, no entertainment..... But very cheap!!
