Home > Monarch > 2002 > ReviewTaken March 2002 from London Gatwick to Arrecife (Lanzarote)Having flown with Monarch 8 years ago, it had been some time since I last flew with them. Normally I fly with JMC Air, but this time I decided to travel with Monarch. At Gatwick their were 12 check in desks, but only 3 were open - slightly busy due to the fact that 2 planes were due to depart at the same time. Once onboard MON4198 the huge plane which was a widebody Airbus A300-600R was full with everyone waiting to go. Take off was 10 minutes late. Once airborne, the cabin crew were selling chocolates and headsets. Headsets were available for hire for £1. After this, the drinks were served. Slightly over priced with a small can of Pepsi costing 75p instead of the average 50p. The T.V screens also came from underneath the baggage lockers and the entertainment began. This consisted of 4 episodes of Porridge, So What Now, Dad's Army and Friends. Breakfast was then served which was Beans, Sausage, Bacon, Omlette and Potatoes. There was also a roll with marmalade, a strawberry yoghurt and orange juice. Tea and Coffee were also available. Once the meal was taken away, hot towels were provided. After this Game Cards were on sale for £1. Duty Free was then provided afterwards. Finally another drinks trolley came through the cabin. As the plane prepared for landing headsets and rubbish were collected. Overall, it was a pleasant and smooth flight while landing in Lanzarote 15 minutes early. The crew were smart and friendly and I would definitely fly with Monarch again. | ||
