Taken August 2001 from London Gatwick to Malta Luqa

Air Malta are a superb airline to fly with. We had a half hour delay which was unusual as Air Malta are nearly always early in to LGW, though this delay was not a hardship. Before pushback the captain was very nice and made a few jokes about the cabincrew which got the passengers laughing, never had that happen before!

After takeoff newspapers were given out (a choice between an English and Maltese paper) and also complimentry drinks with nuts. When the food came round I was very surprised at its quality, not the normal watery food with no taste that you get, but food that actually tasted like what I was having - salmon.

Cabincrew seemed a bit off though and a comment from my mother was that 'they smelt of cheap perfume' hehe. Anyway the captain kept us fully informed all the way down to Malta. When we passed over Sicily he pointed out that we were passing over a very active mount Etna.

Seats were not that comfortable, though on a 2 hour and 30 minute flight I don't really think it mattered that much.

Overall a very good flight and I would be happy to fly them again!
