Home > Air New Zealand > 2001 > ReviewTaken August 2001 from Los Angeles to SydneyThanks to a major stuff-up at London Heathrow - THE worst airport in the world - I missed my connecting flight from LA-Syd on an upgraded United Business Class ticket. I'd flown to LA from London with Air NZ. I was desperate to get back to Sydney and couldn't afford to wait for the next United flight so, after explaining my predicament, the Air NZ staff hustled me onto the next Syd flight which was leaving in 20 minutes. From the moment I stepped onto the plane I couldn't have received better service and attention. Nearly distraught by the time I boarded, I was given a row of four seats to myself and brought a large bottle of Evian water for during the flight. The flight attendants were solicitous and checked frequently if there was anything I needed and that I was comfortable. I was moved into Business for the last hour of the flight to get me off as quickly as possible as I had further connections to make. After having so looked forward to a United Business Class flight back from LA I can only say that this Air NZ experience was the next best thing! The meals were scrummy and the cabin crew were wonderful! I couldn't have asked for more. Thanks Air NZ for turning a potential flight from hell into one of the most enjoyable long haul experiences I've ever had! | ||
