I travelled with my family from Schiphol Airport to Dalaman for holidays in Turkey on an Airbus on seats in the middle of row 13.

On this first flight we were requested to make a choice for a smoking or non-smoking seat and we made a choice for non-smoking.

Everything went smooth with the check-in, the flight started at 07:00 am instead of 07:30 am.

I think that this airplaine is not a very modern one because we could not find any monitor with flight-information and the crew did not give us any information regarding flight or wheather etc. However, the personnel was correct.

The seats in this plane were too small, so we did not enjoy the 3 hours flight. Beside that we felt that there was not served enough water of softdrinks.

Tuesday, June 4, 2002, Flightnumber NTL 253, Charter, we returned from Dalaman to Schiphol in a 757-200 on seats in row 33.

On the way back home we were not requested to make a choice for non-smoking and therefore we assumed that this was a non-smoking flight.

The seats in this airplaine were much better and we also had monitors, however there was no flight information via monitor or crew.

However, within one hour some passengers in row 30 started to smoke cigarettes. I requested one of the stewardesses to find out whether the flight was a smoking flight or not. However, she did not do anything. After a while some more people in front of me started smoking and another passenger complained and again nothing happened. Then some more passengers were annoyed because of the situation and now one of the stewardesses explained that passengers were allowed to smoke in row 39. Because of that, smoking passengers came to the end of the plane, but were stopped by passengers in that section.

I think it would be much better not to smoke in order to give everyone in the plane a healthy flight.
