Taken May 2002 from Atlanta to Johannesburg

Flew SAA for the first time in six years, and I have to say that I was very happy with all elements of the trip. Business class is not as flash as on other airlines, but you are pretty comfortable and the service was pretty good. Lots of smiling faces to be seen and great pilots.

Meals are still served on a tray, but who really cares. The service from Atlanta to JoBurg was head and shoulders above the return service. SAA really needs to take care of the flight crews coming out of SA. The return flight was still comfortable, but the cabin crew was much less professional. Food was served still in a plastic bag, and no Champagne before take off!!!

After dealing with JoBurg check in procedure (a complete joke) I needed a drink to help me cope. Anyone going to SA should remember to plan ahead for JoBurg departure. I promise you, no one knows what they are doing and you will need the full three hours to get checked in! Just think in African time!!!
