Home > Monarch > 2002 > ReviewTaken May 2002 from London Gatwick to ChaniaMON1436: The check in at Gatwick was very quick and efficient, and the flight left on time. The aircraft was an A330 G-EOMA. It is 9 abreast so quite cramped, but not too bad. The inflight entertainment was OK, and the food was actually really nice (recommend the vegetarian meal - much tastier than the standard meal). Service was professional and quite friendly. The flight was smooth and landed 45 mins early. Baggage at Chania was awful- it consisted of passengers from 3 different flights (JMC A320, Excel 767 and our A330) running between carousels to find our bags. MON1437: On an A330 G-SMAN. This flight wasn't quite so good. The check-in was again very quick, but the woman at the check in counter was in a hurry and she didn't even ask us if we wanted a window seat. We found ourselves with no window seat. However the FA's did their best to get us another seat, but that also failed. The seats were not comfortable at all! We complained to a FA who let me sit in a window seat for 15 mins, which was good, as the flight was full, but the woman was happy to give up her seat for a while. Food was OK, not as good as it was before, the service was OK also. Landed 15 mins early, baggage reclaim was OK this time. I would say that Monarch is quite a good airline overall, and I would fly them again. | ||
