Taken June 2002 from Vancouver (YVR) to London Gatwick (LGW)

Needed to fly to London on a specific day and ended up booking through A Canadian Affair in London. Charter was full of holidaying Brits returning home, I think I was the only Canadian.

Positives: Brand new Airbus 330-200, seatback video for everyone (movies included Oceans Eleven, Harry Potter, Full Monty).

Downside: Rather "common" flight attendants who treated us like the cattle we were.

The flight was sold out (the flight was overbooked and two young women were taken off in Calgary, presumably to be sent to London via Air Canada). This occasioned a delay, but we arrived pretty much on time due to a big tailwind, according to the pilot.

I stood near a bulkhead for about half the flight to keep the circulation going, drank tons of water and popped those homeopathic No Jet Lag tablets. Really, this flight was no worse than similar ones I've taken on Air Canada and British Airways.
