Taken March 2001 from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur KLIA

Really marvellous experience flying with this superb airline.

We travelled the Far East on our honeymoon, taking in 9 flights in total between London, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Singapore.

On the long haul flights we had the pleasure of flying on MAS 747-400s. The leg room for economy was unbelievable. Not much chance of a DVT with so much room to move, and moveable footrests. The seats were wide and comfy... none of the horrible numb bum syndrome here.

The service was first class, attentive, friendly and well timed. The food was another sensation. Large portions, good choice, and the best tasting airline food I have ever experienced.

It was almost a shame to leave the aircraft.

All 9 flights departed and arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled times... incredible.

The domestic service again was superb. All on 737-400s, but even on a short sector like Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, we were served a hot meal, again which was sumptious. The cabin service yet again first rate.

Final note on the 747-400 flights was the seatback TV, complete with games. This really was wonderful. Great movies, good music and really entertaining games. All this and the screens were a good size too, so no eye strain !

In short Malaysia Airlines make flying a pleasure, you are treated like someone important, and all this in comfort and style. They have got just about everything right, and in my opinion are of equal standing to Singapore and Emirates. This airline is horribly under-rated, a real jewel in Malaysia's crown.

I could not recommend flying MAS highly enough.
