Taken August 2001 from Manchester to Chicago O'Hare

Boarding was executed effectively without any problems. Once onboard pre-take off drinks of either orange or water were offered to all. The aircraft was late being pushed off the stand due to a Ryanair aircraft (typical) having a blown tyre on the runway earlier that day, delaying all departures from the airport.

Once airbourne, the flight was veyr smooth and comfortable. Inflight entertainment was exceptional with the seats being comfortable for the fairly long flight. All members of cabin crew were friendly and willing to help throughout the flight. The food was excellent, especially considering only an economy airfare was paid.

The aircraft (A330-200) was very new + modern.

The approach into Chicago was less than favourable with much turbulence, made worse by a woman a few rows in front of myself being very sick all over the floor, to which the cabin crew reacted very profesionally and aimed to help her as much as possible.

Once on the ground, Chicago O'Hare was a mad house with many international flights landing in rush hour with domestic flights trying to takeoff. Immigration took a long time to clear.

Overall impression of BMI was a very very good one. The flight showed that they know how to treat their passengers which is very important on transatlantic flights. Well done BMI British Midland!!
