Taken October 2001 from San Francisco SFO to Toronto YYZ

On the way from SFO to YYZ, wasn't bad. Left on time, got to Toronto on time, no problems...

On the way back on the other hand! Swear words cursing through my head - got to the airport about 4 hours before departure, instead of the 2 that they ask for. When I checked in, I was told that I would be assigned a seat at the gate, which should have already alerted me. Some time later, people with the seats assigned were led to the plane, and about 20 or 30 other people were left standing, told that they'll let us know when we'll get on the plane...

About 10 minutes before the scheduled departure they told us that the plane has been overbooked (OOPS!!!!) - by the 20 or 30 people who were standing in the lobby - and we wouldn't fly on that plane - double OOPS! Oh yeah, and our bags were already on it and it was too late to take them off. Then they offered us either a flight in 4 hours to SFO, or flight in about an hour and a half to San Jose, CA. Since I didn't care, I told them I'd rather go to San Jose and be home sooner; they also said that our bags would be waiting for us in San Jose.

In the end, the San Jose flight didn't leave till about half an hour before the SFO flight, we got to SJ at almost midnight, our bags were not there as promised. NO ONE KNEW where in the world they were, and all we got for all this crap was $100 Canadian, which, especially as the airport doesn't give you ANYTHING.
