Home > Spanair > 2002 > ReviewTaken January 2002 from Madrid to MalaboFlight JK131 Madrid / Barajas airport is nothing to write home about. I was not sure if was in Africa or Europe. It does look shabby indeed. Not traveller friendly at all and there is no information to help you find you way around the airport. Check-in for this flight was total chaos, it had something to do with all the Africans each carrying two tons of luggage. Rude / couldn't be bothered check-in staff. The departure time was 2:00 am for this flight so all the shops / bars were closed. There was no ramp to the plane and we had to catch the bus. The plane was a new A320, very clean and tidy inside. The crew were really friendly. As for the economy class seats, the best I have ever been in yet. Leg room was really, really good. My knees never hit the seat in front. I am over 6ft so I do take notice of airlines and leg room. Hope KLM, BA, Qantas, AA, Air France are all reading this. My work requires me to travel all over the world which I have been doing constantly for the past four years so I have a fairly good idea on what airlines / airports are offering customers. On the down side it was a smoking flight, but the smokers were all at the back of the plane so it did not really bother us non-smokers. A meal was served after take off which was OK. The four hour flight was smooth with no problems. As for Malabo airport (if you can call it an airport), it's more like a cow shed, it's disgusting. I'm not lying either, you have to see it to believe it. A new airport building is being constructed at the moment which can only be a million times better. | ||
