Taken July 2002 from London Luton to Malaga

Well this was my first flight on Monarch Airlines in about 10 years and it won't be my last.

I came across their "Monarch Scheduled" service in the Sunday Times, so went onto their website, and, they turned out to be much cheaper on the dates I wanted to travel than easyJet.

We got to check-in two hours before departure, to a small queue.

The check-in staff were friendly and efficient and I was relieved to see that I had an assigned seat, no need to sharpen my elbows like on other cheap-seat airlines. But, was bought down to earth that I was flying a charter airline, when we were informed of a 90-minute delay.

Not too bad though.

When we got onboard the seats, I must admit were very cramped, and, there was a no-frills service in the way that you had to pay for drinks.

But, the crew were very friendly, smartly dressed and very helpful.

And, we managed to catch up 25 minutes somehow in-flight!

I'd definitely use "Monarch Scheduled" again, but, I recommend a few tweaks to their service and seating.
