Home > Northwest > 2002 > ReviewTaken July 2002 from Detroit to LansingI was returning home to Lansing after a week long trip in Wisconsin. I flew Northwest from Madison to Detroit and then from Detroit to Lansing. The security was very tight at the gate as I was the victim of a random security check. I emptied out my wallet and even had to take off my shoes so they could scan my feet. Weird stuff. So I finally boarded the aircraft (a DC9). DC9s are usually quite cramped, but as I was in the 7th row I was very comfortable. The seats were actually quite nice. I think it may have been one of the newer aircrafts. We were delayed by about 15 minutes because one of the computer things had to be replaced. We made up for that by landing only about 5 minutes late. No biggie. I would have to say one of my complaints was the flight attendant. We (in economy class) were offered a choice of orange juice or water. The girl sitting next to me wasn't feeling well and wanted some ginger ale. She apologized and said that other beverages were strictly for about the maybe 6 first class passengers on the plane. I had to sit next to her while she barfed her guts out. But oh well, that's coach for you. The flight was only about 22 minutes so it wasn't too bad. I just felt bad for that girl. But otherwise, Northwest is my local carrier and has great destinations. That particular flight was actually quite pleasant until the last 5 minutes. | ||
