Home > Lufthansa > 2002 > ReviewTaken August 2002 from Hamburg to London CityCheck in at Hamburg took more than 30 mins whilst waiting for Lufthansa to check in a party of 30 school children - individually!! It might have been an idea for the airline to have done a group check in perhaps to stop any inconvenience to others. We were taken by bus to the aircraft from gate A12 to the aircraft, again DHC-8-300 D-BHAM operated by Augsburg Airways for Team Lufthansa. The aircraft had been cleaned and had freshly laundered headrest covers today - obviously being done the day before. I was fortunate to get seat 11A by one of the rear emergency exits and again it was very comfortable for a small airliner, better comfort than a B737 in some respects. This flight was full and we departed on time. The flight cruised at 20,000 feet and was quite bumpy at times, forcing the cabin crew to suspend the service at one point. Great views of Amsterdam as we flew overhead the city en-route. During the flight we were served again a light snack of an orange yoghurt drink, a baguette of herbed and peppered cheese - which was better than the ordinary cheese one previously, and a chocolate wafer bar. Drinks and tea/coffee were also available and the cabin crew were friendly and worked hard on this full and often bumpy flight. We arrived on schedule after a flying time of 1 hour 43 minutes. Overall, two really enjoyable flights and was at home 4 miles away within 30 minutes of landing. Great!! | ||
