Home > Olympic > ReviewTaken August 2002 from Athens to SofiaPrior to boarding, no hand luggage larger than small camera bag was allowed on board and had to be tagged and handed to ground crew to be loaded with other baggage. This is on the tarmac at the aircraft steps. This was due to the very small overhead locker in the ageing 737-200. Rude FAs with bad attitudes that needed to loose a few kilos served a cold snack instead of the advertised meal. I suspect the crew's attitude and age of this shabby aircraft was due to the dislike of Bulgarian people who are the majority of pax since Balkan stopped this service. After take off flaps were retracted very early and a steep turn commenced at rather too low altitude for my liking. My suspicions that the F/O flying was inexperienced were confirmed when at Sofia the westerly runway was joined downwind far too close and not enough room was allowed on final. When on final the aircraft was too high and commenced a steep descend and rounded out at high speed, possibly too high slamming the undercarriage on the runway. I WAS RELIEVED when I felt the thrust reversers. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! | ||
