Although the outbound flight had been re-scheduled, ostensibly by the tour operating company, the inbound flight was on time.

A Finnair 757 was used, and the facility to pre-book seats is essential as this gives adequate legroom.

The service was excellent and friendly with one stewardess actually remembering who we were from three weeks earlier, and for the first time ever my wife actually finished an airline meal - I felt cheated.

As this was the first time we had travelled independently from a tour company it was reassuring that our plans worked and of course considerable savings can be made by 'doing-it-yourself'.
