Home > Air India > 2002 > ReviewTaken August 2002 from Bombay/Mumbai, India to New York JFK, NYFlight: AI 101 Routing: BOM-LHR-JFK Aircraft: Boeing 747-400 The flight was on time. Check in was inefficient. He gave us seats all apart. Baggage was checked in all the way to my final destination. The newly renovated Mumbai Airport is good. Security checks were ensuring. Flight departed on time. Menu cards were distributed, and hot towels were given, which was a nice touch. We were served breakfast, which was good. Entertainment system was old. Service was fast, but not rushed. Good flight attendants, that were willing to help. 2 hours from London we were served lunch, which was excellent. Air India is renowned to have the best Indian cusine in the air, just as good as a fancy Indian restaurant. Arrival into London was on time. Transit time was 1 and a half hours. Flight left on time to New York. Service started promptly, with drinks first and then lunch. Again, excellent! Different Hindi and English movies were shown throughout the trip. 2 hours before arrival, we were served afternoon tea, which consisted of sandwiches, cakes, and scones. Very good. Arrival into New York was good, with one of the best landings I have experienced. Took an enormous amount of time to retrieve the luggage. All in all, a very good long flight, with great (no.. the best!) food in the air, simple entertainment, and good cabin crew. Comfort could have been better for such a long trip though. I would definitely fly the Indian flag carrier, Air India, again! | ||
