Home > British Airways Citiexpress > 2002 > ReviewTaken July 2002 from Southampton to DublinThe aircraft was Embraer with leather seating and plenty of room. We took our daughter who was eighteen months at the time and the attention given to us/her by the crew was fantastic. Unfortunately, due to too much milk on the way back she threw up over the seat and the carpet when the aircraft was on final approach back in Southampton. Once again, the crew were brilliant and told us not to worry about the mess and that they had "seen it all before" (aparently the vomit gets frozen then removed I was told). I used to use the Ryanair service from Bournemouth, but there is no comparison. Although Ryanair do sometimes offer really cheap seats (at quiet times), at the least the BA fare remains the same year round and more often than not, there isn't much in the difference. Also BA offer three flights a day during the week and one a day at weekend, which offers great flexibility. I understand now that they are no longer using the Brazillian built Embraer regional jet on this route, which is a shame because it's a cracking little plane. They are using the DeHavilland Dash 8 (turboprop) and this adds ten minutes to the scheduled time (1hr 25mins). I haven't flown on this yet, but am scheduled to do so this month so hopefully it'll be just as good. Incidentally, the Embraer is still used on the Saturday flight. | ||
