Home > Lufthansa > 2002 > ReviewTaken December 2002 from Dublin to HamburgTransitting at LHR, the first leg was operated by British Midland but carried an LH flight number. There was some confusion over the flexibility of the ticket as it was a discounted business class. Fortunately BD changed the outbound sectors as I had missed my flight, although I don't think they were supposed to. I spent an hour or so in the LH lounge at LHR: it is fairly spacious but fairly lacking in charm almost resembling a school staff room. Flight-wise everything was fine. This route is operated by a 737 which is becoming one of my least favourite aircraft. LH's heavier traffic services to FRA and MUC are operated by A320s from LHR and these are always more comfortable. Returning from HAM to LHR we arrived 20 minutes early allowing me to take an earlier BD connection and not spend 2 hours waiting for the normal connection. That gets a 10/10. It struck me that for such an enormous airline, Lufthansa have never put much emphasis either on style or product innovation. It is a very functional airline that could do benefit greatly from a corporate makeover and identity. | ||
