I took a flight back to Jakarta on Jan. 1, 2003 on board PR501 from Singapore. It was the same aircraft, an A-330, that took me to Singapore from Jakarta on Dec. 22, 2002. It was a code-share flight with Garuda serving MNL-SIN-JKT vv but operated by PAL.

Departure from Singapore was about 30 minutes late. During the flight, one of the overhead TV monitor near the business class rattled rather loudly during take off & turbulance [same condition applied to flight PR502 JKT-SIN I took on Dec. 22]. Food was poor & served hastily, but could be forgiven as it was a short 1 hour 25 minute flight. F/A, while trying to be professional in their duty, looked reluctant to pour additional drinks & to respond to passengers' call [I kept hearing the F/A buttons buzzing repeatedly during the flight].

This was my first PAL flight, I hope it's not the typical services of PAL in general that I experienced.
