Home > Aeroflot > ReviewTaken December 2002 from Hong Kong to CopenhagenI had to change planes and wait 8 hours in Moscow Sheremetyevo for my onward flight to Copenhagen. This is about the only negative thing I can say about Aeroflot: The standard of Sheremetyevo is way below Hong Kong or Copenhagen, and the so-called '1st Class Lounge' compares very poorly, in particular with the Dragonair lounge in Hong Kong. Otherwise I found the airline to be excellent. Certainly far better than the rather flawed reputation it has with the travelling public in Hong Kong. I flew in a Boeing 767 from Hong Kong to Moscow and a Boeing 737 from Moscow to Copenhagen. Both planes were OK. Albeit, the 767, the older of the two, had kind-of the same ambience as a Motel-6, i.e. slightly worn interior, neat, clean and plain, but no Hilton. To judge from the smooth, very smooth, take-offs and landings, as well as the expert handling of turbulence, the planes are flown by highly qualified pilots. The on-board service was excellent and very quick. The food was plentiful and one of the meals (braised halibut) is the best I have ever had in flight. All in all I found the trip to be a joyful and relaxing experience. I am a slightly nervous flier. However, with Aeroflot I was not worried for a second. I recommend the airline to anyone. Not only because the fare is far lower than the nearest competitor, but also because of the feeling of being in good hands, as safe as possible. | ||
