Home > Iberia > 2001 > ReviewTaken July 2001 from New York JFK to MadridFlight from NYC to Madrid was cancelled due to a pilot strike. No formal announcement made in JFK, just photocopies handed out saying that Iberia was going through rough times. It was a zoo at the ticket counter getting rerouted flights. We had to get our baggage down at arrivals and had to get to the British Airways terminal (we were rerouted through Heathrow) on our own - luckily my brother and I are experienced air travelers. The first-time flyer would have been lost.
Return flight from Madrid was late due to late arriving crew. The boarding process was terrible - because there was none. No lines, no order at all. The 747-200 was an old plane with ample legroom, but still tight. Flight attendants were older than average. Food was average - nothing special at all. Overall, I did not have a pleasant experience on Iberia. Potential fliers - beware. | ||
