Taken May 2003 from Manchester to Palma de Mallorca

Crew:

Polite, smartly turned out, and confident - not sure about the captain (Swedish/Finnish?), as we heard very little from him!

Interior:

Definitely a budget airline! The A300 looks pretty old, and despite the airline's comments about spending £m's on refits recently, it still looks old inside. Plus, all the emergency equipment has Finnair branding - I know they're long term lease, but isn't it worth it for appearance sake?

Thank goodness they do a pre-booking service - I managed to guarantee an exit row seat for only £15 (I'm 6ft 2", so it was well worth it) - I don't think I'd have been able to cope with a "normal" seat.

Flight:

Pretty good on the whole, despite "unique" whining sounds from the engine that I'd never heard before on take off, and a strange accelerate/decelerate approach to the descent!

Overall:

Not too bad for my 7th flight of the year (including several trans-atlantic flights) despite the scare stories on here :-)
