Flew last minute with easyjet as a BA return was going to cost too much and get me to my destination far too early. Did buy a BA ticket for the return leg though as I would get home far too late if I were to return to Stansted.

The travel reports had led me to believe that the Stansted Express was suffering delays, so I rolled straight out of bed and set off. Got to the airport 2 hours before take off and was given boarding pass 20, which I did not realise meant I got first pick at the seats. Was disappointed to see that EasyJet had not carried Go's seat number policy, as I was led to believe they would have.

The flight appeared as boarding on the screens half hour before take off, and when I got to the gate it was on Final Call. 5 minutes before take off, Final Call and still no plane... Announcment made that the aircraft had just landed and boarding would begin in 20 minutes.

The flight boarded quickly, and 10-15 minutes after we were all on the Captain announced that the baggage truck had not turned up due to staff shortages. Also we had lost our slot, so we departed nearly an hour late.

G-IGOJ appeared clean in new easyjet livery, seats more comfortable than expected, and still in GO colours, legroom shorter than BA, but felt the seat offered more support. Purchased a hot chocolate, very good and the cup was very full!

One thing, as loud as they were, the all orange uniform of easyJet is far more better to look at than the new one with grey added!

I will fly them again if the cost makes it worthwhile, but with the added expense and time of 2 hours across London, the train all the way would be cheaper. My other alternative is to spend a little more with BA, and get delivered 15 or 25 miles from home at LGW or LHR, but for the money on the flight alone, an excellent service by easyJet.
